Version 2026-10-24 · Effective 24 October 2026 · Governing law: Singapore
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of SG Tuition Finder (Unofficial) at sg-tuition-finder.pages.dev (the "Service"). The Service is run by a single individual in Singapore (the "Operator", "we", "us") as a free, non-commercial project. Please read these Terms together with the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer and the Content removal & complaints policy, which form part of these Terms.
1. Acceptance
Before the Service loads any assignments you must tick the box confirming that you are 16 or older and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and press Continue. Doing so forms a binding agreement between you and the Operator.
Your acceptance (the Terms version and the time you accepted) is stored only in your browser. If you do not agree, do not tick the box and do not use the Service.
Using the Service after a new version of these Terms is published, and ticking the box again, means you accept the new version.
2. Who may use the Service
The Service is for tutors in Singapore who want to find tuition assignments posted publicly by tuition agencies.
You must be at least 16 years old. By ticking the box you represent and warrant that you are 16 or older.
If you are 16 or 17, you may use the Service only with the knowledge and consent of your parent or guardian, who should read these Terms with you. You and your parent or guardian accept that you use the Service entirely at your own risk and on your own and their responsibility. The Service only shows posts that agencies have already made public; any tuition arrangement you enter into is between you, the agency and the family, and the Operator plays no part in it. Take extra care with your personal safety: apply only through the agency, meet only in safe settings, and tell your parent or guardian before accepting any assignment.
If you use the Service while under 16, or misstate your age or any other eligibility matter, you do so entirely at your own risk and on your own responsibility (and, where applicable, that of your parent or guardian). The Operator relies on your confirmation, has no means to verify it, and accepts no responsibility or liability for any use in breach of this clause; the indemnity in section 10 applies to such use.
You must not use the Service if doing so is prohibited by any law that applies to you, or if your access has previously been suspended.
3. What the Service is, and what it is not
The Service fetches the public web preview of a fixed list of public Telegram channels run by tuition agencies, extracts the posts, and lets your browser filter them by level, subject, rate, mode and straight-line distance from your home postal code. Every card links back to the original post on Telegram and to a map search.
The Operator is not a tuition agency, employment agency or placement service. The Operator does not post assignments, does not represent any agency, student or parent, does not take part in any application, interview, placement, payment or dispute, and does not receive any fee or commission.
Using the Service creates no employment, agency, partnership or placement relationship between you and the Operator. The Operator gives no assurance that any assignment exists, is still open, pays the stated rate, or will be offered to you.
The Service is unofficial. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Telegram, any tuition agency whose channel is listed, the Singapore Land Authority (OneMap) or Google.
4. Service provided "as is" and "as available"; no warranty
The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, condition or representation of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or merchantability, to the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law.
Posts are written by agencies in free text and are read by automatic rules. Any parsed field may be wrong: the level, subject, rate, number of lessons, location, postal code, status (open or closed), tutor type, or the straight-line distance. Posts may also be outdated, duplicated, closed or withdrawn by the time you see them.
You must verify every detail directly with the agency before you rely on it, apply, travel or agree to anything. The link on each card to the original Telegram post is provided for that purpose.
Distances are straight-line ("as the crow flies") estimates between two postal codes using coordinates from OneMap. They are not travel distances or travel times and may be inaccurate or unavailable.
The Operator does not promise that the Service will be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that channels will continue to be included, or that any defect will be fixed.
5. Your responsibilities
Personal safety. Tuition assignments often take place in private homes. You alone are responsible for your own safety. Verify the agency and the assignment before you go, tell someone where you are going, consider meeting in a public place first, and follow any safety advice from your agency, school or the Singapore Police Force. The Operator has no knowledge of, and no control over, any agency, family, student or location.
Your own compliance. You are responsible for complying with the terms of each agency and of Telegram, with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and all other laws that apply to you, and for any tax, licensing or employment obligations arising from tutoring work.
Your settings. Your filters, home postal code, hidden and applied lists and saved lists are stored only in your browser. You are responsible for backing them up (using Export backup) and for anyone who has access to your device or browser.
Your decisions. Any decision to contact an agency, apply for, accept or attend an assignment is yours alone and at your own risk.
6. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
access /api/ or any other part of the Service by automated means (scripts, bots, scrapers, crawlers or bulk downloads) other than through the normal use of the web page in a browser;
copy, scrape, harvest, store in bulk, re-publish, sell, share or otherwise redistribute posts or any information about students, parents, families, addresses or schedules obtained through the Service, whether or not combined with other data;
use any information obtained through the Service for any purpose other than considering and applying for tuition assignments with the agency that posted them. In particular, you must not use it to contact, visit, profile, track, harass or market to any student, parent or family, or to build any list, database or model;
use the Service to harass, threaten, defame, impersonate or discriminate against any person, or to publish anyone's identity information in breach of the Protection from Harassment Act 2014;
interfere with the Service or Cloudflare's, Telegram's or OneMap's infrastructure, probe or test their security, circumvent any limit or allowlist, send abnormal request volumes, or introduce malicious code;
remove, hide or alter the attribution, disclaimers or links shown by the Service, or present the Service or its output as official, or as affiliated with any agency, Telegram, SLA or Google;
breach the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, the Computer Misuse Act 1993, the Copyright Act 2021, the terms of Telegram, of any agency or of OneMap, or any other applicable law or third-party right.
7. Third-party services and links
The Service depends on services that the Operator does not control: Telegram (public channel web previews at t.me/s/), the tuition agencies that run the channels, OneMap by the Singapore Land Authority (postal-code geocoding), Google Maps (map links) and Cloudflare (hosting and edge caching). Each is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, and each may change, limit or stop working at any time. The Operator is not responsible for them or for their content.
Links to Telegram posts and Google Maps are provided for your convenience only. Following a link is at your own risk. The Operator does not endorse and is not responsible for any linked content.
The Operator does not use the Telegram API, Telegram bots or Telegram accounts; it reads only the public web preview pages that Telegram publishes for public channels.
Distance data: Contains information from OneMap (Singapore Land Authority), accessed at the time of each lookup from onemap.gov.sg, which is made available under the terms of the Singapore Open Data Licence version 1.0. Your use of OneMap data through the Service is subject to that licence.
8. Intellectual property
Posts, channel names, logos and other content shown through the Service belong to the agencies or other owners who published them. The Service displays brief extracted details, attributes each post to its channel and links to the original. No licence to that content is granted to you by the Operator; any use beyond viewing it to apply for an assignment is between you and the owner.
The Service's own source code is published under the MIT License. The MIT License covers the code only, not any third-party content, data or trade marks.
"Telegram", "OneMap", "Google Maps" and agency names are trade marks of their respective owners and are used only to identify those services and sources.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Singapore law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by the Operator's negligence (Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, section 2(1)) or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to the point above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, misrepresentation or otherwise, for: (a) any indirect, consequential, special or punitive loss; (b) loss of income, earnings, business, opportunity, assignments, data or goodwill; (c) any loss arising from inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information, from a parsing or distance error, from reliance on any post or link, from any agency, student, parent or other third party, or from anything that happens at or on the way to or from a tuition assignment; or (d) any unavailability, interruption, change or discontinuation of the Service.
Subject to the first point above, the Operator's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms shall not exceed S$100. You acknowledge that this cap is fair and reasonable because the Service is free, is run by an individual without insurance or revenue from it, is clearly labelled unofficial, and directs you to verify everything with the agency.
These limitations apply even if the Operator has been told of the possibility of the loss, and are in addition to, not instead of, the Disclaimer.
10. Your indemnity
You agree to compensate and hold harmless the Operator against all claims, demands, losses, damages, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service or of any information obtained through it, or your breach of any law or third-party right, including any claim by an agency, a student, a parent, Telegram or a data protection authority caused by your acts or omissions.
11. Suspension and discontinuation
The Operator may change, suspend, restrict or permanently discontinue the Service, or remove any channel, at any time, with or without notice and for any reason, including at the request of an agency, data subject or rights holder, or if the Operator can no longer run it.
The Operator may block any user, IP address or network that breaches these Terms or threatens the Service.
Because nothing is stored on a server, you should export a backup of your settings if you want to keep them.
12. Changes to these Terms
The Operator may change these Terms by publishing a new version with a new version date on this page. When the version changes, the Service will ask you to read and accept the new Terms before it loads any assignments again. If you do not accept, stop using the Service.
13. General
Severability. If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that part is to be read down or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in force.
No waiver. A failure or delay by the Operator to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer and the Content removal & complaints policy are the entire agreement between you and the Operator about the Service and replace any earlier understanding. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
No third-party rights. Except for the Operator's right to enforce clause 10, no person other than you and the Operator may enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. The Operator may transfer the Service and these Terms to a successor who agrees to be bound by them.
Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and you and the Operator submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
